I am trying to Install Palm Desktop on a Windows XPSP2 computer. I downloaded the latest software for the palm zire 71 off of the palm website. During the installation process I am receiving the error 1607: unable to install installshield scripting runtime. I have installed this piece of software on other computers withing the company that I work for, and have not encountered this problem with any of them. Got any ideas?

---I have found the work around to get this to install on Windows ---First you have to register the vbscript.dll . ---To do this go to start/accessories and right click the command prompt and choose run as administrator. ---This should open the command prompt at the "C:\Windows\System 32" directory. Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll and press enter. ---Now when you run the setup for the Palm Desktop version 4.1.4e you will not get that error. ---On my system I got a second error "Install Shied Scripting Error 1607" I found a support document from Install shield http://consumer.installshield.com/k... - make sure you do the section of clearing out the temp files. ---Once I did both of those I successfully installed and was able to hotsync my palm on Vista. This should work for XP as well if your having the same issue but I have not tried it.
