My work machine has MS Outlook 2000 and talks to an exchange server here. I have a work-issued Palm 700w that syncs OTA with the exchange server using the pre-installed ActiveSync A problem on my 700w has wiped out the calendar info on the mobile device. How do I make sure that a sync will not wipe out my calendar on the exchange server? I've searched exhaustively through the settings in ActiveSync to force info to flow from the exchange server to my 700w, but can't find anything. Only thing remotely close is the option "If there is a conflict: replace item on my device or keep item on my device". Since the absent events on my 700w's calendar are not conflicts, but rather "updates", this doesn't seem to address my concern. Can anyone help?

try these tips:
1. updated our Exchange servers to MS Server SP1 and our Exchange installations (cluster) to Exchange SP2.
2. Your account does not have permission to sync with your current settings.
3. check your anti-virus/anti-spam systems.
4. root certificate from the certificate authority for the mail server

Treo 700w can only work with Exchange through the Exchange ActiveSync. Which requires the root certificate from the server to have a token attached from VeriSign.com to authenticate the certificate as valid for Verizon to allow a secure connection. This certificate has to be copied to the treo and installed. On the Exchange server side, OWA and EAS must be installed. Only other trouble could be with vpn's and if you are using verizon's wireless sync service.
The Treo 700w will not sync any other way with exchange except through a usb or bluetooth connection to a desktop or laptop running outlook if outlook is connected to the exchange server.
