For Handspring but maybe other users:

I am sorry to hear about your hotsync problem

Outlook 2000 introduces an ambiguity into MAPI settings. Palm Desktop and
PocketMirror can be confused by this and present the error listed above.
There is a Microsoft utility that is installed with MS Outlook 2000 and MS
Internet Explorer 5 called Fix MAPI.exe that may resolve this error. To run
this utility :

1. Close Outlook.
2. Click HotSync Manager icon | Exit.
3. Select Start | Run... and enter: fixmapi.exe
4. Restart the desktop computer.
5. Attempt a HotSync operation.

If these things do not resolve your issue please do the following:
6. Click on Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet or Internet Options
7. Click on the Programs tab.
8. Set MS Outlook as your e-mail client.
9. Attempt a HotSync operation.

If these things do not resolve your issue, please do a search for
MAPI32.DLL. Rename each occurrence of MAPI32.DLL to MAPI32.OLD. Then you
need to reinstall MS Outlook using the Repair and Replace missing or corrupt
files option (in Outlook's Help menu) and this will install the correct
MAPI32.dll file.

Chapura, the makers of PocketMirror, provide excellent information on this
topic in their support knowledgebase. www.chapura.com. Select support and
search for MAPI32.dll.

If the above suggestions could not resolve the issue please call the
Handspring Technical Support line, quoting the case number listed in the
subject line of this email.

This will assist us in tracking your case for further trouble shooting.
1-716-871-6448 if the unit is still within 90 days of purchase.
OR
1-888-345-5150 if it is more than 90 days since purchase and there will be a
charge of $19.95 for Technical assistance.

We are open from 9 AM to 9 PM EST, Monday to Friday. One of our agents will
be happy to walk you through a solution.
