I have a visor pro. I use to have a dial up connection and had no problems. I recently moved and now have a cable modem. Both my cradle for my pda and my cable modem use a USB. My problem is this: As soon as I set my visor pro in its cradle I lose my cable modem connection. By this I mean if I am signed on to MSN messenger, it kicks me off and I am no longer able to "surf the web". My hotsync proceeds as normal except if it involves a program that requires the internet, in this case epocrates and journal to go. I have contacted epocrates, who have tried to help me but with no success. I am currently communicating with handspring who have offered some assistance but also with no success. Here is some of the info I have gathered and tried: I am not behind a firewall, do not require a proxy server, my USB is compatible with my windows OS, my cable modem does not block any incoming ports. As far as bandwidth with the USB I am not sure how to check this. I did read on the internet that if there is not enough bandwidth an error message pops up. In my case this does not happen. Also, I read that if you plug in the device you are trying to use first, then plug the modem in second, the modem will accomadate for bandwidth. I tried this and this did not work. I am not sure if there is even any truth to this! I appreciate any assistance, I am lost on what to do (as you can probably tell) and just getting more and more frustrated. AS far as I can tell on my handspring visor pro the connections are correct (USB to PC, etc.) Is there something I am missing, a box perhaps I am not checking? AS stated before I had a dial up connection and never had any problems, only now that I have a cable modem do I have these problems. Thank you again and look forward to any responses.

It sounds like a challenging problem. Unfortuntely I don't know how to help you except to suggest you try this site:
www.pdastreet.com
It is an entire site devoted to PDA's including forums. This forum here at computing.net is not very active usually. You might get some help here, but I really suggest you try the other one.
Good luck.
