I just purchased a used HP IPAQ rx3715 and am having some problems with it and would appreciate any help or advice, I can get on the problems. I have searched quite a few web sites, but have not found any solutions yet, although there is a lot of good info in them. I also have a Palm Tungsten T & T3 and have been using these handhelds for a few years, so I'm not a novice with the handheld tachnology in general, but I really haven't worked with the Pocket PC systems until now. I will briefly describe my problems.
First of all, I have an HP IPAQ rx3715 withWindows Mobile
2003 SE on it and it has all the factory installed programs on it that I am aware of.The problem, I am trying to find a solution for is a problem with functioning of the itask button and the HP Image Zone buttons on the front of the handheld. Specifically, they are non-responsive when pressed. I have went into settings etc. the Itask program settings to try and correct the problem, but without success. Now, the latest is, that I cannot get it to perform a hard reset by the normal method of holding down the media button and itask button, plus using the stylus to depress the reset button. Instead of responding with a hard reset it goes into a soft reset (most likely due to the malfunction of the itask button. I have had the unit now for almost 2 weeks and it wasn't long after, I had it that I had some kind of problem, which may have been related to a 3rd party software or memory etc. and the unit just up and stopped, went dead.
I think, I recd a message that battery power was low and then then it went dead. At this time, I pulled the battery out and then put it back in, which resulted in a hard reset. Then, I recharged the system and reinstalled and set up the system. But now when I tried removing the battery and reinstalling it, it won't go into a hard reset. (Sorry this is so long but thought I'd better try and explain everything as carefully as I can. To sum up then, I would like to know:1. What I can do to get itask button working like it should.
2. Any other ways, I can do a hard reset.
I do have some other concerns too, but will make another post for these. Also, I will continue to research this forum and any other relevant forums to find out if anyone else has ever had an issue like this come up with the rx3715.
Anyway, appreciate all of your help and hope to get the problem resolved, as I think this system will be quite useful if I can get the "bugs" out.
Thanks for Your Help
Would appreciate any help or suggestions on this problem. This is the information, I am receiving at bootup. The system is an older
Gateway 2000 Colorbook and it had the CMOS battery changed, plu
