Comment:

My friend just got a Sony Clie just like mine. I'd like to transfer some games and other programs to his unit through the IR port, but we can't figure out how. For starters, there's "Send" and "Beam". What's the difference? My Palm starts searching for another unit, but cannot find it. How do I set his unit to receive? In the prefs, we turned Beam Recieve on to no avail. What else should we do?

Make sure that in the General section in the Prefs says that Beam Recieve is on on Both Palms. This is Just a guess, but I think that "Send" is if you have bluetooth, but I'm not sure. Then on the palm that you want to beam from, go to the main desktop, and tap the menu button, then tap Beam... Select the program that you want to beam, make sure the palms IR ports are facing eachother, not too far away, and press beam. If that doesn't work, try contacting Sony.

Hope it helped!
