My friend had that problem. If it still has warrenty contact apple customer support. If its not in warrenty then reset it once every day. Helping your everyday needs, Mr Saunders

I had that problem with my Video & Photo ipod. they both weren't covered under any warrenty. Iopen both of them and made sure all cables were securely plugged and everything was in order. I then close the casing. it worked from that point on.

It's worth adding that if your iPod refuses to go into Disk Mode and you hear a noticeable clicking sound, it's likely a faulty hard drive. If the unit is a Fourth Gen, however, the problem might just be corrosion on the HDD cable and will need cleaned periodically. Good luck & I hope this helps. ipod frozen
