Hi,
I hope that someone can help me out here. I am looking to upgrade my Palm IIIc to a IPAQh3900. I like the sharpness of the pocket PC (fonts) I read a LOT of text on my Palm and find it hard sometimes its just not crisp. I'm not sure if I should stick with Palm or branch out to the IPAQ. Is the IPAQ really worth the price? I wouldn't be using the wirless features. This is just to use for taking notes, sync e-mail and reading it on the go. The IPAQ is the the palm that allows you to hotsync right? You can connect it to your PC.
Thanks,
Ruth

If you want to pretty much read email, Word documents, PDFs, and jotting down notes I would recommend a Pocket PC based device (i.e. and iPaq). However the 3900 series is a bit expensive. I would look into the Ipaq 1910 (about $299) or the Dell Axim X5 (starts at $199). Both of these would do what you want to do. Also the Pocket PC platform allows you to sync Word and Excel documents.
You don't sync using hotsync however. The Pocket PC devices come with Active Sync which works very similarly to hotsync. You will need to install Active Sync on your PC but it's no harder than setting up hotsync.
