This could be one of several problems. Was this iPAQ ever connected to this system? Has any other PocketPc ever synced on this PC? Do you have a serial mouse? Are you running a dial-up modem? Usualy this is caused by an activesync config issue. Generaly when the ipaq has been reset or has the same name as another PocketPC that was previously synced. Sometimes however there can be a com port conflict with hardware or a bad cradle. If you can answer those questions, I will be better able to answer yours.

I have just upgraded from 98SE to XP Pro and Activesync 3.7 is not finding the iPAQ through a serial connection. answer is no to all the questions from above. Apart from this iPAQ was connected before the upgrade. The iPAQ seems to identify it is connected as it tries to connect.
