I am running on the Windows Pocket PC 2000. Does anyone know of a cheap/free place to upgrade my OS ?

According to Microsoft, there is no way to directly purchase any Pocket PC O/S upgrades. All upgrades have to be purchased through the original manufacturer.

That is correct. You can purchase a 2002 upgrade for the iPAQ from HP. However, for the older iPAQs (3600 and older) I do NOT recommend the 2003 update. It won't offer any signifigant changes for those models anyway. It was maily to support the new xscal processors and bus speeds and the new version 9 media player (which isn't included in the upgrade for those models anyway due to limited ROM size) If you have a newer model (3700 or newer) then go ahead and get the 2003 update if you like since those models have the ROM size to support the full upgrade. The 2002 upgrade is $20 I believe and the 2003 $40

Sorry to be the one to tell you this but Microsoft got smart with the Pocket PC upgrades and you can't "obtain" them anywhere but through proper channels due to the fact that they are serial numbered DIRECTLY to the unit you are upgrading. In other words, if someone where to buy the upgrade and then put it out on Kazaa for someone else the serial number wouldn't work for anyone but the person who owns the PDA that the software was registered for. The CD is the same for everyone but the serial number is generated just for you. That's why in order to get it you have to provide you pda serial, owner name, model, etc.
