I'm thinking of buying an Ipaq 3950. I'm concerned about a couple things: 1) is it true u have to buy an expansion pack if u want to buy a second battery?
2)are there screen protectors other than the ones on the HP website that are compatible for Ipaq (the ones on the site are only good with the rugged case) 3)If I buy a cover pack, is it necessary to buy a case?

Some good questions there. 1. I don't think so unless you want a larger battery type.
2. You mean a screen protector from scratches or from shock? The former any piece of mylar or plastic really does the trick here, I make my own, rather than buy these overly expensive condums. If you mean shock, then I would buy the rugged case.
3. No but again you may want both depending on your needs for the day....

As for the battery, yes, if you want a second battery, you will need to buy an expansion pack. The 1900, 2200, 5400, and 5500 series are the only iPaq's with a removable battery.
