Ipaq 3850 SYNC Problem

I can't get the IPAQ to sync using COM1. When I try to sync from my desktop, something pops on my IPAQ and says "connecting to host" but it never does and goes away after 3 seconds. Any ideas?

TRY TO CONNECT TO COM2 OR RESTART THE SYSTEM AND TRY TO CONNECT IT AGAIN.

Check if you have windows 95 I do not think that it is compatible, it installs the software etc but does not sync. We upgraded to 98 and now works fine.
