You need to do a hard reset. Now before I tell you how to do this, you need to know, this will reset the PDA back to the way it was when it was new, all your data will be gone. Anything that wasn't in the "safe store" is toast. All applications that you installed after you got it, all notes, all addresses, etc.
Okay, that said, hold down the calander button (on front, far left) and the arrow button (front, far right) and while holding them down use the stylus and reset the unit on the bottom. Then let go of all of them. This in fact is like disconnecting the battery (that's how they ship). Now just do the regular reset with the stylus on the bottom and it should come back up.

Thanks TBOMB.
Still does not appear to be responding, all I get in the first red/white start-up page. No sounds, reaction, will not hold a charge...nothing. Should I try to disconnect the battery physically? Not worried about info on it, all is saved on desktop. Once again, thanks for the advice. These ipaqs do not seem to be real reliable!

The same thing happened to my h5455. I was in the middle of performing a ROM upgrade and when the iPaq rebooted it froze at the splash screen. Both a soft and a hard reset only reboots it to the same screen. The only way I can turn it off is by performing a hard reset or removing the battery. It won't establish a connection with my pc, so I'm dead in the water. I remember this happening to my old 3650 iPaq and holding down the action button while performing a normal reset to get to a parrot screen which enabled me to establish a link to my pc and restore the ROM, but that hasn't worked. Does anyone know of another key combination or another method of establishing a link to my pc so I can reinstall my ROM?
