Has anyone else had a similar problem? Here are the symptoms: Response from unit when the screen is touched is erratic. Adjacent items and beyond are selected instead of intended object. Tried "Hard Reboot" as suggested by HP (another MS in the making?) and the problem was corrected. But when I tried to use it a couple hours later the screen problems started again. I though it may be a power problem after it worked when in the cradle but not on battery or travel charger. Then it started acting funny in the cradle as well. Compaq is taking it in under warranty. Pre-paid shipping too! Has anyone else had a similar problem? TIA, Lee

We had the same exact problem, and also when we tried to use the letter recognizer it would scribble from just a little dot. We were running PocketPC 2002 with version 2.07 ROM, and we tried to upgrade the ROM to version 2.20, which is the latest, hoping that this would solve the problem, which led to the discovery of the possible true cause of the issue. IF you have Pocket PC 2002 with ROM version 2.07, this is a beta and is both unauthorized and unsupported. It has been known to cause major damage to IPAQ devices. If this has caused your problem, Compaq may void the remainder of your warranty, so make sure this isn't it before you send it in!!!
