Ipaq 3650 won' sync

I've had an Ipaq 3650 for about a year and use it almost everyday and than sync it, I've never had a problem syncing until the other day when I put it in the cradle I got a message that said something like carrier was dropped or no carrier dectected or something similar, I have high speed cable with no problems, also when I would put it in the cradle I would hear a beep acknowledging the connection and the icon on the scrren would pop up with the message connected, it doesn't beep and the prompt doesn't come up anymore, I checked the USB connection and it seems to be connected ok, any suggestions???
