Internet via Serial Connection?

Ok guys, does anyone know if it is possible to surf the net on my H/PC through the serial connection to my PC. My PC has a cable connection, and it seems to me that the serial pc to h/pc connection is like any other network connection. And that I should be able to route my internet access through it. Know what I mean?

I am pretty sure you can do it through a hotsync with the cable but you have to check
