I have an HP iPaq H6315 and it's stuck at the align screen (it loops indefinately) I did a soft and hard reset several times. I tried aligning it more than 10 times flat on the table with the stylus at 90' angle. HP tech told me to do a ROM update to solve the issue but I have Vista and the Windows Mobile Device Center creates an error during the update. I am over my warranty period and I'm wondering if anyone knows how much it will cost to send to HP for repair? I have searched through many threads all over the web and I have tried all of the comon troubleshooting but it's not solving the problem. Has anyone had this happen to them on this model and received a real solution? any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
If Vista is giving you an error, why not try on a computer with XP installed. I have done many mobile phone upgrades on XP. And if you cannot get a PC with XP, then here is a patch that may allow you to go what you want: http://mahmood1.com/upgrade_pocket_...
Good Luck,
