Hotsync problem - Clie S300 with Me

I have a Clie S300 which I was using perfectly well with Sony Vaio desktop with Win Me.Last month it just stopped to Hotsync and I got the error message-Unable to initiate Hotsync operation because the serial port is in use by another application. I have tried everything from hard resetting to unistalling and reinstalling the Clie software.I just have my Canon printer connected to my computer and nothing more.I use the cradle with USB connection to Hotsync.Anyone who has a solution PLEASE HELLLP.Thank you all in advance.
