HotSync not working

I recently got a sony clie tg50. I installed palm desktop for my PC the day i got it. I used the sync to install some software on it via usb cable to cradle. This worked fine. The thing is now when I press the HotSync button on the cradle the windows "new hardware wizzard" pops up and says it has found a palm divice. Hotsync does not even pop up. I find it strange that it was just working the day before...I am using XP
