I am unable to hotsync my palm m505 with HP Pavilion N5270 laptop (OS - WIn ME). The hotsync using the cradle works but thru the IR port. The laptop recognises the incoming ir device but my hotsync manager loaded doesnot recognise the port. I tried beaming some file from a mobile phone and the ir transfer worked between the mobile phone and the laptop, but the thing refuses to work between the palm and the laptop. could anybody pse help ?
Palm O.S - ver 4.0

RamThanks in anticipation...

I have the same problem with my Samsung phone. I sync fine from the cradle, but have the phone set to sync with the IR port but my Hotsync manager on my notebook doesn't seem to intercept the IR traffic (in spite of the fact I can send files using IR between the two). Did you ever get a solution to your problem?

I'm having a similar problem with the XTNDAccess USB IR adapter. I finally figured out what's going on. The software that comes with the adapter has a beam application that wakes up when the adapter sees an infrared device. Basically, it's standing there in the way of HotSync when you try to sync. If you're quick, you can tap HotSync on the PDA before you let the adapter see the PDA IR, and if you time it just right HotSync will grab the port before the adapter's app pops up. Try it. I can do it about once out of three tries.
