I have a NEC MobilePro 900 with an XScale processor that runs Win for Handheld PC 2000. I have a Wireless NIC on the NEC that I use to connect to Linksys wireless access point router that is sharing High speed cable Internet to my NEC and desktop.
I would like to use my NEC to remote control my Win XP Pro desktop. I am finding it very difficult to find any good Freeware/Shareware for the XScale processor including remote control software (PC, not TV/DVD remote). Does anyone know of a good source for software for my device type, more specifically any remote software?
On a side note, can Java applets from websites run on the NEC because when I visit a site running an applet, I get the usual grey box when Java isn't available and nothing prompts me to install an application or anything.

You can use the VNC viewer (and server)which is freeware. You should be able to do a google and find it but you can also get to the client side by just going to a web browser window on the PDA.
There are also a few other apps out there for this. Try Handango.com if you still have trouble let me know.

Thanks for your reply TBOMB.
I d/l VNC Server and installed it on my Win Xp desktop and it appears to be running. The problem I'm having now is that I cannot get my NEC Mobilepro to connect to it.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong but from my reading I see two potential solutions:
1. I find a version of VNC viewer that will work for my NEC. (which I cannot find).
2. Run the client side through the browser. (all I get is the white square box with the red X when I try to connect to (http://computername:5800/). Do I need a java package or something for this to work? Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance for your help on this.
