Greetings, How would I, if it's possible, go about converting a DBF file created using a Psion to a CSV file to use with my Palm IIIc?

Thanks for the help.

Hope this helps. First check that you have not used any commas in your database. If so, change them to another character e.g. a hyphen, else the csv file will get its records out of sync.

Series 3 Psion
1) Open database file
2) Use Menu button and select 'Save as'
3) Enter a file name e.g. temp, then select 'Save as' and change 'Data' to 'Text', then select 'Delimiter' and change 'Newline' to 'Comma'.
4) Press ENTER and the file will be save as a text / csv file.
5) You must then use PsiWIn to transfer the file to your PC. You can open the csv file with Excel or Works to edit it if necessary.

Series 5
1) Open the database
2) Use MENU button, 'File'>'More'>'Export as text file'
3) In next box, select Options and change Text Qualifier to 'None', leave Label Separator as 'Comma', and Entry Separator as 'End of Line'.
4) Again, use PsiWin to transfer to your PC.

G'day,

If by dbf file you mean dBASE compatible, why don't you just import it directly into Excel??
Then you can "save as" to whatever you like.
If it's a proper dbf file the operating system shouldn't matter; just load it into your PC and straight into Excell(or Access/ dBASE for that matter).
regards,
Peter
