The problem I am experiencing is:
Connecting my IPAQ to my PC using Bluetooth and then to sync them using Activesync
I have successfully set up a partnership between my Dell Inspiron 510M and my HP Ipaq 2210 using Activesync - with the cradle provided with the IPAQ.
I now want to be able to connect the IPAQ and the laptop using Bluetooth.
I did so using the Bluetooth Connection manager.
The steps I used in the Bluetooth Connection Wizard were: New. Connect.
ActiveSync via Bluetooth Set up an ActiveSync partnership with a Bluetooth enabled computer
I determined that COM4 was the correct port number (by checking Local Services in Bluetooth Configuration).
I then opened ActiveSync on the computer and selected Connection Settings, Allowed serial cable or infrared connection to the COM port and selected COM4.
I then tapped to choose a device - DHHHFP1J (which is my laptop - at an earlier stage my PC and my IPAQ were talking to each other using Bluetooth) at which point it says "Service discovery Discovering device DHHHFP1J"...
It then says Service discovery Service discovery was unsuccessful. An error occurred while attempting service discovery. Please make sure the remote device is turned on, Bluetooth is enabled and the device is discoverable and try again.
As far as I know, the above conditions are met.
[Yesterday, my IPAQ did discover the PC successfully...but the PC then didn't discover the IPAQ and it wasn't possible to sync them using ActiveSync. Now it isn't even possible for my IPAQ to discover the PC.]
I want to be able to connect my IPAQ to my PC using Bluetooth and then to sync them using Activesync.
Could somebody assist me please? Many thanks.
