Connect Psion 5MX to PC

I don't seem to be able to connect the 5MX to my PC. There seems to be a link (hand held turns on when trying to connect), but no connection is formed. Can anyone assist??

I used to have the same trouble,
what i do now is turn my pc off, then connect my psion 5 mx, make sure the remote link is set to cable, on the psion and when you turn your pc on it should recognise your psion and u can synconrise and load software.
it is also reccomended to load psiwin 2.3 onto your computer :)
