Clie handheld records not copied

I'm getting the problem where the HotSync manager says that some records were not copied to your PC and that I might not have enough room on my PC. I'm having this problem with my Sony Clie, and many others are getting the same problem on other Palm platforms. I have 5 meg free on my Clie and 1.2 G free on my PC, so I don't really think it's lack of space on either device. I did a Google search and saw that someone else had this problem withover 1000 records, and one with around 100 records. This seems to be a bug in the HotSync manager. I'm not sure what to do about it yet. I'll call Sony back and see if their 2nd-level support will tackle this.
