I love my cassiopeia, but after 18 mos., it turns itself on randomly, as if someone had pushed button. This makes it almost unusable, since the battery wears down, and I get spurious inputs when I'm working with it.
Help

COMMENT 1: Shhit!!!! So that's what waits for me in a few months? (I bought mine close to a year ago).
I'm pretty sure it's a problem with all the contacts (from the buttons), maybe they're too dirty, sticky, dusty or greasy or maybe even too dry.
Try opening the machine in a clean-empty table and arm yourself with little brushes, compressed air and some Q-tips. A table lamp too.
I mean, it doesnt work and you have NO waranty anymore. You have nothing to lose.
TIP 1- Remember NOT to use any solvents at all, just maybe a TINY BIT of soapy water.
TIP 2- Remember wher EVERYTHING goes as you are taking it appart. Sketch or ake pictures if needed.
TIP 3- Remember to save all your info in your computer first.
TIP 4- Remember that STATIC ELECRICITY from your fingers can damage some of the components, be creative, figure out a way of grownding yourself and the machine.
COMMENT 2: to The OMiCRONIddiot! can't you read?
It's an E-125, it says so right there!
Later.
good luck.

I had an EM-500, and it was doing the same thing. I discovered that calendar appointments were set up with reminders by default. Whenever an appointment happened on a weekend and I didn't look at the PDA until Monday morning the battery was dead. The reminder comes on, the screen lights up and unless you "dismiss" or cancel it, the unit stays on.
