The BlackBerry Pearl is a great looking device that is trying to take the email side of things and combine it with the kind of features you would find on a high end mobile or smartphone - for example it is the first Blackberry to feature a camera. You can also browse the web plus there is an organiser, media player, IM, Micro SD expansion not to mention the pearl trackball navigator. More info here: http://www.powerupmobile.com/produc...

It's a great device. Matter of fact I'm typing this on my BBpearl now
and browsing these forums.they have to many features to list here but a
few awsome ones are..... Cellular modem. I use my BB to get my laptop
on the net along with my desktop. Support upto 2 gig sd micro cards.I
have whole movies on it from itunes. You can use mp3's for Ringtones.
Instead of paying your carrier 2.50 per tone.use of ota (over the air)
installs and PC installs....... draw backs.... Cell service is lacking in
reliability. They sacrafice cell service for all the other functions. My nokia gets service where the BB drops dead.
All smartfones are this way and the BB is the most reliable for
non-dropped calls. Sidekick seems to be the worst. The data plan for the BB is
the "edge" same carrier as the iphone. Matter of fact my data speed
increased the day the iphone was released. Due to agreement with at&t. Also since my data plan and cell plan are diffrent carriers
cell is T-mobile data is AT&T. AT&T owns "edge" I can get service with "edge" in spots where I have no cell service and vice versa. So I still have a form of communication with the world since it supports all the major IM hitters such as ICQ AIM and YAHOO.
and the pearl is acually smaller than my nokia 6031 phone it's not that clunky full size BB.
also the pearl doesn't have the wifi feature that the new BB curve does. Why would this matter? well you can WiFi a call and use no cell minutes if you are in a "hot spot" and the transition from wifi to cell is seamless when you get out of range from wifi and switch back to cell. so I've heard from ohter curve users. also no browsing the net while you are on a call. but you can browse both your phone and PC @ the same time.
Ckeck some BB forums
HTH
later
