How do I know (programatically) which one is my current connected device (in case I have connections set for more than one Pocket PCs on my desktop).
Microsoft\Windows CE Services\Partners\??????\Services\Synchronization]

Activesync will display the last connected (and currently connected) device in the activesync window just above the "connected"/"not conncected" line.
Chances are that unless you have changed the name of your PDA (HIGHLY recommended* see note) it is probably something like "pocket_pc". To get a list of devices that have a partnership with the PC, got to the file menu and hover your mouse over the "mobile device" selection. This will list the available partnerships. Make sure that any you no longer use are deleted. This is done by selecting one from the above mentioned menu and then going back to the file menu and selecting "delete partnership".*As for the name change on the PDA itself, I do recommend this for several reasons, one if you ever need to reinstall the PDA from a backup made through active sync, it will recognize it not as the same PDA but rather a NEW pda with the same name and won't allow it. Then you would be tempted to remove the existing partnership which would in fact delete the files you need to restore the pda. The reason I made this little note though was because you need to be careful about changing the name of your pda if you have purchased software for it. Many times the software is registered to both the user name AND the pda name. The pda name is under settings, system tab, about. Then you should see a tab for the name. Again, check with any software companies you may be using to make sure you won't need a new serial number generated for your software.
