Does anyone here have experience with the Handspring Treo? There are a couple new models out, and no one I know has them, nor have I seen them in Best Buy or any place like that. I am really interested in the 270 model, which is a cell phone and PDA combination, in color. If you have this or the black and white version (the 190?) could you post a mini-review? I’d much appreciate it.

Thanks!
Sicily

I have the Treo 180, the black and white model. I think that everyone is looking for something different in a PDA/cellphone combo. For me, I was searching out a damn-near-perfect phone, and instant emailing abilities. The phone for the Treo is everything you could want...crisp reception, caller ID, call history, one touch dialing, great speaker phone, one-touch 3-way calling – it’s a great phone. The emailer has been my favorite part. I’m able to email anyone within seconds. Another reason I chose the 180 was due to the graffiti function AND the keyboard. I didn’t really care for graffiti, but I didn’t really want to learn a whole new system and I wasn’t sure if I’d care for the keyboard, it seemed too small. But I never use the graffiti anymore, I’ve found the keyboard to be much easier to use and when I’m real lazy, I just use the touchscreen.

Hope this helps,
Kendra

I have just bought a Treo 270, the colour model. It is an excellent phone with easy one touch dialling, etc. The internet browsing and email is quick and efficient. The colour screen is really nice but can be difficult to see in bright sunlight. It has only a keyboard, no graffiti. I thought the little keyboard keys would be difficult to use but you soon get used to typing with your thumbs!
It is a great piece of kit and I would recommend it to anyone who is fed up of carrying both a mobile phone a PDA around.
