Comment: I have a OS/2 boot manager that can already run OS/2,Linux,Windows98 and BeOS. I prepared a partition to receive a NTFS Windows2000 system but I am affraid it can mess up all my installation. Does anybody tried this before?

Reply: (edit)I have one multiboot system with W2K and OS/2 but I installed W2K at first... W2K will kill the OS/2 bootmanager (corrupt some part of the file system...) unless you install ServicePak2 or higher. DFSEE can recover such a damage but it would be better to get W2K with integrated ServicePak2. Be sure to have a backup before going to install...

Reply: (edit)FYI ... While installing service pack 2 for Windows 2000 will indeed correct the issue of a corupted OS/2 Boot Manager from the installation of Windows 2K there's an easier fix than having to download the massive service pack ... Microsoft released a HOTFIX that corrected this issue as well ... And it's 850kb in size so it's a lot less cumbersome ... Should you want a copy let know and I'll send it to you ... Hope this helps ... Gregory L. Marx
