Dont tell me an operating system i aint that stupid? Is in a bloody linux thing or something uselfull, unlike linux things?

The supposedly official successor to DOS, jointly developed by IBM and Microsoft starting in 1987. Microsoft and IBM divorced in the early 1990's. IBM continued and refined it into a superior OS with an easy to use and extremely powerful graphical user interface. Microsoft developed their share into Windows NT. NT is the b---tard half brother of OS/2 Warp!
OS/2 went FAT'less in 1989 and became 32 bit in 1991. First on the internet in 1994 and the first to have built in voice control and navigation along with built in native JAVA without a browser in 1996! Numerous other technical advances, most of which were developed and implemented 2-5 years ahead of Windows.

Robbo, I can't believe you haven't heard of OS/2 !!! Anyway, OS/2, put simply, is what most banks run on, and can be found in a few business (such as CAB Health Recovery Services, Inc.) who run their servers with it. I personally would not recommend looking into OS/2 unless you either have a lot of money to spend (the new OS/2 5.0 goes for $200), or have an old computer that you want to run an old version on (the installer has no support for non-standard CD-ROM drives and can't recognize hard drives larger than 8 GB). I would, however, say that it is a pretty good operating system, based on the slight experience I have had using it before I decided to give my copies away for free.
If you want more technical information, try os2.com , os2warp.com , etc. etc. (by the way, IBM does NOT manufacture or support OS/2 anymore ... it belongs to a third-party company whose website is at ecomstation.com ).

IBM does continue to support Warp4. (They are still releasing FixPaks) But they license out now for E Com Station.
