Reply: (edit)Hi Bart ! Well, there are many sites on the Web dedicated to OS/2. For information and news, go to www.warpcast.com and en.os2.org If you want to know what OS/2 is, then go to the www.software.ibm.com site, the select Operating systems in the software list. To have a little history about operating systems, go tohttp://www.stardock.com/stardock/articles/oswars2000.html Don't hesitate to e-mail me you questions ! Have a nice discovery ! Laurent

Reply: (edit)I tried for 8 months to get OS\2 3.0 Warp to work.........after having to reinstall it for no apparent reason many times, I had to give up on it. It was a nice concept.......but just didnt cut it. I still have the Warp CD in my closet. Who knows Maybe I will install it and see what happens..........OS\2 is cool it just doesnt work well enough. I havent tried versions 4.x so maybe I should check it out.

Reply: (edit)I work with OS/2 on a daily basis along with just about every other major operating system. OS/2 is an operating system designed by IBM for network environments. It uses it's own file system called HPFS, but can also read FAT 16. If you look around, you will see several applications running under OS/2 due to the stability of the OS. For example, ATM machines commonly use OS/2 and designate that the shell be the banks application. You may find more info on IBM's web site, www.IBM.com. Hope this helps. Oh, OS/2 is not exactly great for multimedia and like all operating systems has its drawbacks. The newer versions (4.5) has made some dynamic advances...but, I have heard rumors that it will be eliminated by IBM in the future.
