I have a web server running eComstation.
The web server software is Apache 1.3.33
I have installed FTPD 1.20
And I have Perl 5.8.0
Everything works fine, except for one thing.
I want to be able to post news on my web pages.
To do it, I have downloaded News Pro 3.8 from Elektrik Sheep. This is suppose to run on Perl 5. But I can't find a way to run the script.

I have run the test script that comes with Perl 5, and it says that my Perl 5 install is good.

To install News Pro, you have to upload it to the server via FTP, and assign permissions to each files with CHMOD. But FTPD do not recognize the function CHMOD. I ask FTPD support about it, and they told me exactly what I was thinking, FTD did not support CHMOD command. But the guy told me "why do you need CHMOD for on OS/2?".

So my question is: is there any other way to setup permissions on each files, the same way CHMOD do it, on OS/2?

The problem I have is that when I try to execute a CGI script within my browser, it does not execute, but instead show me the content of the script file (in this case, newspro.cgi). I have tried to rename .CGI to .PL like they say in the readme that comes with News Pro. In the FAQ, they have a section about the exact same problem I have. But the only thing to do is to CHMOD the files correctly. What can I do??
