I am running a Warp4 system in Text Shell mode. After the Warp 4 screen appears and the PMSHELL.exe is running the message "System Installation failed to Initialize", appears.

Hm, not so many details, please! Is your information not a little bit sparse?
OS/2 has a text-based system on which a graphical shell (PM) resides. If you want to just use the text-system, every reference to a "PM"-program should be left out. You'll have to hack the config.sys; a crucial and large (100 lines or more) ascii-file. There is some help: I have seen good descriptions of what's going on in that file. Don't give in! greetings, H.
