Subject: WARP 3 INSTALL PROBLEM ON THINKPAD 760C |
Comment: Hello, I purchased an old thinkpad model 760c recently and have a video problem installing OS/2 warp 3.0.I have visited the IBM site several times and have flashed the BIOS to the latest version.I also have read TP 760 INSTALLING OS/2 WARP 3 (see URL below) http://www.pc.ibm.com/techinfo/GSMH-395JY5.html?lang=en_US&page=brand&brand=IBM+ThinkPad%7CThinkPad+760C&family=IBM+ThinkPad%7CThinkPad+760C&doctype=Software+information&subtype=All&up=unknownuser1004106089 This doc talks about a video graphics fix for OS/2 warp but the only video disk I can find on the site is the video features disk for OS/2. The problem I am having is after going through the first 6 disks at the point where I am prompted to remove the disk from the drive and reboot system to begin configuration, the system reboots to the WARP logo and the screen then go's black. The hard drive spins for a few seconds, then the floppy and then the system locks. I have installed other OS's including OS/2 2.1 and have checked the system several times with PC CHECK and IBM diagnostics.Perhaps there is a fixpak for this problem but I can't seem to find it anywhere.I have even searched the OS/2 SUPERSITE. Thank you in advance for your reply on this matter! Regards David
