Hi. I'm having trouble installing Warp 3 on an IBM Aptiva with the following specs:

Pentium II / 266, Flash BIOS
PCI/ISA bus
6.4 GB EIDE hard drive
ATI Rage Pro graphcs chip set
32 MB 60ns SDRAM
24x CD-ROM IDE

I installed Warp 3 from floppy disks on to a second C:\ Primary partition formatted to HPFS. When I boot OS/2 I get the following messages:

SYS 1201 The device driver C:\OS2\BOOT\COM.SYS in the DEVICE statement in
line 60 of the CONFIG.SYS file was not
installed. Line 60 is ignored. Press Enter to continue.

I pressed enter, then got the same message, but for device driver C:\OS2|MDOS\VCOM.SYS in
Line 72.

Then I pressed enter, got a little white box in the left top corner of the screen for a few second, then nothing.

I assume I need to update the drivers using
a Fixpack, but don't know how to get it off the Internet and on to that partition to allow OS/2 to boot. I am running Win 95 with IE 5 browser on the other
C:\ partition. How can I get the correct device drivers on to the OS/2 partition without booting OS/2?

Thank you very much.

Before anyone takes time to answer, I'll try the Alt-F1 recommended in an earlier posting,
and let you know if it doesn't work.
Thanks.

I was able to boot Warp 3 by using Alt-F1 and the V command to load VGA drivers.
I still get the SYS1201 messages when I boot
up, but pressing enter bypasses them.
I now hope to use WebExplorer to download
Fixpacks. Any advice on how best to proceed in updating my Warp 3 system would be greatly appreciated.
I'm wondering if I can't get by with Warp 3 for now, instead of getting Warp 3 or eComStation, and if Netscape 4.61 for OS/2 and Lotus SmartSuite 4.5 will run under Warp 3. I want to minimize my monetary investment in OS/2 until I decide whether I want to shift my work (word processing, e-mail, web browsing) to OS/2.
Thank you.

Go to the IBM OS/2 Device Driver Pak Online and look under "systems"

I use Warp 3 with my 486DLC40 and it runs very well, no fixpacks. I use Netscape 2.02 disabled JavaScript ,run the -3 switch in the perameters setting and changed the default fonts to someting easier on the eyes. No problems. There is a nice little task bar called OS2 Commander available free, no fancy icons but very practicle. There is also a program that incorperates True Type fonts using your font pallette, just like Warp 4, available free as well so you can use your Windows fonts.

As noted there are drivers available for most hardware and more being written all the time.

It is a very stable OS but does take a little bit to get use to.

I find the more I use it the better I like it. OK it's not as pretty as Win9x/NT4+ but it's functionality is great. Not bad for a 6 year old OS.
