vcom.sys problem

i was getting TRAP 000e problem when ever i tried to boot my os/2 warp ver 3 system.
But after doing rem the following line
DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VCOM.SYS
i am not getting this error what this mean what problem i have.

VCOM.SYS is used for setting DOS Session Proterties COM_DIRECT_ACCESS.
Its's used by dos proggies that need to directly access com port, such as Laplink, FastLynx etc when set to On. Can cause problems buffer problems though.

It's recommended that it be set to Off so you should be fine if you don't use such programs.

Just been reading my OS2 v2.1 manual lol.

It also apperantly speeds up Dos com port access. I stress the "Dos", OS2 & Win-OS2 sessions should be fine. If its a lower baud rate may have to be used.

we think that vcom.sys present on our hard disk is corrupt. can u send us ur copy.
