Yes. But you have to have ARCHIVED the previous level to back out. It's very similar to installing a FixPak. If you are having trouble with FixPak 14 why not go ahead and install FixPak 15? It works good for me.

I've got OS/2 back to its original install state using ALT-F1. So how do i un-install the fixpak now...and where in the file manager is it?

You start the Corrective Service Facility (FixPak Installation, SERVICE.EXE or FSERVICE.EXE) You highlight the product that you want to uninstall and then click on the UNINSTALL button option.
It can be risky trying to recover an ARCHIVED Desktop from a previous install or FixPak level. The system could hang. I know, because I've tried it. ARCHIVE recovery is not used to uninstall a particular FixPak
