We are attempting to copy files to our OS/2 computer from our NetWare 5.0 server. When doing so we are getting the following error message: SYS0255: The extended attributes list size is incorrect.
The files in questions were originally created on a Windows 2000 Pro computer before being copied up to the NetWare server.
Thank you for any help anyone can give.

I've typically seen EA (extended attribute) errors when working with FAT partitions, rather than HPFS partitions.
Sounds like something is wrong with the file system or the file coming over. Does this happen to all the files originally created on the W2K machine?
What you can try to do, assuming you have the files on a local drive, boot to OS/2 using the boot disks, then run CHKDSK /f:2 to see if it can correct the problem for you.
/F is to fix the partition, 2 is the level of correction to fix. 3 is too high in this case.
The way I've found around my problems, were to reformat and go to HPFS because it will take too long to fix the EA problems on FAT.
It is very similar to a harddrive crash on NT/2K on a FAT16 partition, and you get lost files conversions all over the place.
Good luck.

Peter,
Thanks for the info...we will try your suggestions. To answer you question it is only long file names that we have this problem. If we use a DOS window to copy the files we have no problem...only when we use an OS/2 window.

Odd, works in an DOS window not OS/2 window...
hmmm... don't do the CHKDSK then...
Does the W2K box have FAT32, NTFS, FAT16 as its File system? I wonder if that is where the problem is...
