If you want OS/2, get OS/2! I think you could get it free if you were connected to an OS/2 users group. I got Warp 3 on floppies for free. And Warp Connect Blue for free straight from an IBM'er, and I received 1 additional copy of Warp 4 for free. I only paid $5 for a copy of Warp Connect Red. And only $20 for a complete new box of Warp 4.

OS/2, Linux, Windows XP are all pre-emptive multitasking 32 bit OS's. XP is nice looking. Linux is ugly, but makes a nice server. OS/2 is the most easy to use, configurable, stable, pretty or ugly (depends on you) OS as well as ECS. Problem is with OS/2, IBM won't commit to a new version or open sourcing it. But they still regularly update components like the kernel and so forth. Actually the new kernels are awesome. As you can see I will still prefer OS/2 for my day to day BS. I use XP only when I have to fix my wifes desktop or copy those nice wallpapers to OS/2. And Linux, again it makes a nice stable server but as a client, it sucks. Get ECS if you want pretty out of the box.
