Comment: Hi, my computer is equipped with an EIDE-drive (20.5 GB) and an UW-SCSI-drive (9.1 GB). OS/2 Warp 4 is freshly installed and serviced to fixpak 13. While trying to resize the OS/2 boot partition (HPFS) with PartitionMagic5 I got error #1027 and the resizing was terminated. Ever since, neither OS/2 nor MSDOS6.2 recognize the logical partitions on both drives, while Win95 still can use (!) the FAT-partitions. OS/2 also still boots to that flawed partition, just the data on the logical partitions are inaccessible. The PowerQuest homepage suggests deleting the faulty partition and creating it new (actually, I bought the program exactly to avoid this). However, PartionMagic5 refuses to delete the partition. Any hints will be greatfully appreciated. Martin

Reply: (edit)... and here comes the fix: PM5 now uses a different type of extended partitions. So after using PM5 you have to edit your partition table: set 0Fh back to 05h. To achieve this, use the utility PTEDIT which comes with PM5 (e.g. the rescue disk #1). But I still do not know about the error #1027 (I'll wait for a statement from Powerquest, whom I also contacted). Cheers Martin
