Hello,
I'm using OS2 4.5 for e-business.
I have a lot of REXX programs running on
computers.After somes days (It's depend on
on the computer) the system become "out of ressource" and I need to reboot it.
All programs run well with OS2 4.0.
The trouble is more important when I use
netfinity to schedule programs.
Have somebody an idea about the trouble ?
thanks

I think there's a lack of free virtual memory in the "shared arena" user space. You can have hundreds of RAM free, if the few 100 MB' virtual memory for shared DLL's are occupied, you cannot load a new shared dll.
You can check this using Theseus (see Hobbes).
Theseus / System / Linear Usage by Process
Look for (Ctrl-F) "arena" and look for it again Ctrl-A). Everytime the search function stops you see information about a particular (virtual) memory area are called arena. The help function of XWorkplace has a scheme explaining the areas.
" There is 0.000M between the private and shared arenas.
Shared arena starts at 06640000, which is 102.250M.
Free memory from 06640000 for 109.000M, which is equivalent to 1744 64K spaces."
If as in the example above the free virtual adressspace in the first ("low") shared arena is 0-few MB's, you get out of resources messages, cannot find (=load) DLL messages and other obscure problems.If you use the Workplace Shell you can free resources bij restarting it (using reset WPS like utilities). You can put this in a scheduler.
CONFIG.SYS options are:
DLLBASING=OFF
saves some memory and if you have user programs that can acces "high memory":
VIRTUALADDRESSLIMIT=2048

I've also seen that message when you don't have enough resources for TCP/IP, partcilarly Netbeui/Netbios. On WSeB, do a networking performance tweak. Go to your WSeB Server folder, and you should see an item that states performance or something like that. It is a wizard and accept the defaults.
