I attempted install of Scitech utility and it hung my system. When I reboot, my system does not even get into the GUI - it says the system has stopped. Question: Can I "step through" boot up as with Windows, or load with default drivers, or, or ...??? I'm new with OS/2 (Warp v4) so suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks.

Use ALT-F1 when you see the OS/2 prompt in the upper left corner.

Did you install plain VGA first before attempting to install the SciTech drivers?

Hey! I owe BOTH you guys a beer for your suggestions! Using ALT F2, I reset to plain VGA, 'cause I was too darn lazy to reset before Scitech install (you know, the "Can't happen to ME!" thing). But now all is fine. Just one more itty-bitty question ... My MS Intellimouse (with scroll) moves great horizontally, but I can only move it vertically if I move the mouse up/down quickly. A driver problem? I can't seem to find an OS/2 driver for this anywhere. Can you help? THANKS!

First, try the AMouse driver, if that one doesn't work, go for the IBM Scrollpoint driver (both to be found at os2.org.(.

Summary: Windows is usually the poorest installer & least cooperative. It tends to blow away anything else it finds (or at "least" makes it unbootable). So install it first. Madrake second. And lastly OS/2...
