I tried to do a ghost image of a hard drive that is larger that the bios will handle (850 MG Drive won't recognize on it - 528 is the highest) and now the old and new hard drive won't work. I'm just running a few tests and starting to learn on this, but since it won't boot I can't tell what version it is. I can boot to a win98 dos prompt and see the hard drive and all the files on it, but that's it.
Any suggestions?
I found an OS/2 Boot disk on the internet, and I get 2 errors: OS/2 !! SYS01475 OS/2 !! SYS02027
I can't get to the point of doing the alt+f1 key, cuz it won't recognize the boot sequence it seems. Thanks!
OK - I got the original machine working now. I can create a bootable disk - using the SYSINSTX command. I'm getting SYS02027 error with the new hard drive.
How do I fix this? I can't seem to find the darn install disks, which is why I'm trying to make some bootable backups or something like that. thanks!
Do you have the OS/2 CD and can you boot Win98 with CD support?
If the answer to both these is "yes" then you can create boot disks by booting Win98 with CD support, then changing to the CD drive and running MAKEDSKS.BAT.
Of course, if your copy of OS/2 is on diskette ... woops!
