Hi could some one point me in the right direction to connect a warp 4 box to a win nt wan from the command line.(need to be able to run a batch file to connect to the network).
just to make it a bit more dificult I can't use the dhcp server because I require a static ip address.
just a quick info on the network:

--------------
authenication
sever
|______________|-------|-------------|
local sever
data storage
only
_____________
/
/
-------------
os2 warp 4
running an
acticve voice
voicemail
_____________

I have set up the following file:

"C:\netlogon.cmd"
net start requester
logon username /p:password /d:domain
net use x: \\sever\directory

"C:\mptn\bin\setup.cmd"
route -fh
arp -f
ifconfig lan0 192.xxx.xx.xxx netmask 255.255.255.0 metric 0 mtu 1500
rem ifconfig lan1
rem ifconfig lan2
rem ifconfig lan3
rem ifconfig lan4
rem ifconfig lan5
rem ifconfig lan6
rem ifconfig lan7
rem ifconfig sl
inetcfg keepalive=30s
route add default 192.xxx.xx.2 1
rem(192.xxx.xx.2 is router ip)
route add net 192.xxx.xx 192.xxx.xx.2 1
rem (192.xxx.xx is router broadcast)
netmask 255.255.255.0

if you can see what is wrong with my cmd file of have any suggestions as to why this won't authenicate (e.g can't get in the network)I would greatly apreciate it

Does your logon command wait for the net start requester to go through and finish. You can make the requester start at boot up without running the command. You can go to network and then there is a check box somewhere (don't remember right now) that says "start sharing at startup". This is the same place where you can define network shares and accounts.

Your cmd file looks fine. Are there any err msgs?

Justin, if your OS/2 box is on a different IP-subnet than the server it needs NETBIOS name resolution. Have a look at:
http://www.flash.net/~roknrob/sea.htm
Chapter 3 will tell you what to change in your present setup. 3.1.1 is my preffered choice, since it will need no future maintenance :-)
