Was trying to figure out how much are the system requirements for os2-warp are? (RAM, HD space, CPU, video, CD ROM, etc)

version 3 -386 no cd-but can be installed from cdrom with correct drivers, about 40megs of HD space-more is better,8 megs of ram-the more the better, 256k videocard-better with a graphics accelerator.
version 4 386-486 or better is ideal, at least 16 megs of ram-once again the more the better, 2 speed IDE cd-rom is good, allow for about 60megs of HD space-more the better, video same as for ver 3.
can be installed from disks made off the CD like ver 3.Hope tis helps.

Eric,
I GENERALLY agree with previous response but I KNOW that HDD requirements given are LOW. Try 80MB *min.* for ver.3; 120MB *min.* for ver.4. Also, Ver. 4 ("Merlin") comes ONLY on RO-COD; so you HAVE to have ONE of them SOMEwhere!IF you expect to run anything WITH the Op.Sys. (under ITS control) then you NEED (require!) even more HDD "real estate".
For Example: One of the "features" built into "Merlin" - WHY it IS called that - is voice control (navigation) *and* voice input (you talk, it types) though this require that you *TRAIN* it! This feature REQUIREs: Sound Card, special (sound "canceling") microphone, 100MB HDD JUST for it, more RAM (say 32MB), and an Intel Pentium 100-120MHz (min.!) (or equivalent Cyrix, IDT OR - my choice - AMD K6) to work - at all.
Networking - included in Warp 4 (only ONE edition, hence ALL boxes) and - ONLY - the Warp 3 *CONNECT* editions (therefore not ALL editions, whether RED or BLUE, of 3!) requires a network card (of course), more RAM then Mark P states - but not MUCH more - and more HDD space (again).
How about: a 486DX4@133MHz, 16MB RAM, 3 x 200MB HDDs, 4x Toshiba SCSI RO-COD attached to a MediaVision audio card, and a Genoa Systems VESA LB (w/ Cirrus Logic GD 5428 accel. chip) (or ATI Mach32 or Mach64 VESA LB) w/ 2MB V-RAM???
That's what I'm running Warp Connect UPON.
How about: AMD K6-2@300MHz, 64MB RAM, 2.1GB SCSI HDD, ATI 8MB AGP buss Video, 40x Toshiba SCSI RO-COD (all SCSI on an Adaptec 2940 PCI buss card) and another mediavision audio card.
These BOTH have 3Com EtherLink III ISA NI cards. Both CARDS work BUT I have a conflict w/ the Mach64 VLB video card in the ver. 3 system SO THAT I'll *NEVER* be able to get them to "talk" WITH that video card within it!
Got some BETTER idea of what warp can USE? ALso, there ARE lots of third party Sw *BUT* most of it is NOT made by the "big 4" ANYmore!
Sincerely,
Tom

Thomas all that SHOUTING is HURTING my EARS.
What I listed was the MINIMUM, I've done it by leaving OUT features, which is ok to get an IDEA of what each will LOOK like :). Your APPEARENT expertise is second to none. Having a supported graphics accalerator card helps heaps. Thanks for adding Warp Connect. Have never had the opportunity to use it, will keep looking for a legit copy though(I like to have the original manuals and such). Got OS/2 Ver 2(IBM Works on disk as well) a couple of weeks ago and that runs real sweet on a 486DX2/66. The manuals make interesting reading.
Eric I'm glad to be of some help. By the way there are some very good OS/2 sites out there and users are very PASSIONATE about their favourate OS.
Happy Warping
