Comment: I downloaded & Created the updated installation floppies from the IBM Site, but it's saying the following message after Fdisk Screen " The system cannot load the dll DOSCALL1-DOSCALLS that is needed to start the system. Install the dll in the root directory of the startup drive or in the directory specified in the Lib path statement in the config.sys file. The system is stopped. Correct the proceding error and restart the system". Please help me in fixing the error. I'm using compaq Deskpro En series-PIII 800 Mhz with intel 815 chipset.

Reply: (edit)Hi Siva, I a new in os/2 and still learning about it but, either the installing disk created are corrupted or you could need what ibm call fixdisk, to correct the problem. You can find a lot programs, fixdisk and information at Norloff's os/2 shareware bbs www.os2bbs.com I hope this can help you. Best regards...

Reply: (edit)I think you have a hard disk controller driver problem. New machines require new a new IDE driver. You should download the updated IDE controller driver for OS2 from IBM and boot your system from the INSTALLATION DISK then DISK1 hit F3 to access the command prompt. Copy the new IDE drivers to the c:\os2\install\boot and c:\ and re-start. This also applie to SCSI controllers. Note, if you are running a NEW install your install disks will need the same updates. Do not forget the SET COPY FROM FLOPPY statment in the config.sys on your install disk. Hope this helps..
