I Tried to install OS/2 Warp 4 on my VPC 2k4 and it gave me an ugly trap 000d error.. I found out from www.ibm.com that trap 000d means it's trying to access memory it doesn't have... but it seems it certianly does have it! Help please. and don't go askin' me for my OS/2 Warp 4 disk images... cuz THEY AINT FOR SALE AND I AINT GIVIN EM AWAY!

Why install under Win2k's VPC when you can install OS/2 Warp 4 (aka Merlin) in a real partition in your machine multibooting with WinXX and other OSes?

Well, under any circumstances, the first thing you need to do is to upgrade your Merlin with the last free Fix Pack available from
ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/ps/products/os2/fixes/v4warp/english-us/xr_m015/

After you download the 15 disk images to a safe place in your hard drive, point your browser to
http://xenia.sote.hu/~kadzsol/rexx/sajat/updcd.htm

Read the instructions carefully and download the utility to upgrade your Warp 4 CD.

This is merely a start to have a modern bootable OS/2 that you can use under ANY currently available hardware and quite certainly VPC.

If you feel up to the task of continuing with the process, let me know. You can build your new CD under WinXX, as per the instructions in Update CD, but you will need additional utilities.
