MPTS is part of the OS/2 Warp3 Connect Software Package.

You have 3 choices, buy OS/2 Warp4, try EBAY, though getting updates from IBM is a nightmare.

Use M$ Lan Manager OS/2 Client:

Buy eComstation:

A little bit confused MPTS is part of both Warp Connect AND Warp server

Warp Server however has the capability of being a domain controller etc.

Warp Server installs because IT has HPFS386 which can address larger hard disks than hpfs in Warp connect.

There are a large number of upgrades that will be needed to run modern software .

The 16 bit TCPIP in both those versions is incapable of running Mozilla etc without modification.

Even Warp 4 would need a lot of work.

If you want to run warp on a modern P4 then I would seriously recommend Warp 4 and updating that, or Buying eCS which is a licensed from IBM client application built from Warp Server for Ebusiness.

Updates for W3 and W4 to current levels for new equipment are ONLY available through IBMs passport advantage program (formerly "software choice" or from ecomstation.com ( http://www.ecomstation.com"

These are the only ways to get the latest drivers so running on a p4 otherwise could be problematic.

If you have Warp Server however you should be able to instlall MPTS/TCPIP etc and get the system useable... unless there's something wrong with the CD.

look for the "Advanced install"

IIRC you type "install" in the root of the CD. AFter you've installed the basic Operating System.

FOR assistance. see OS2_at_work group on yahoo groups.

The cologne site previosly mentined tells HOW to make a new install disk from the original.

You make an original to modify by typing "cdinstall" from the root of the warpconnect CD.

don't try and use the premade disk listed there...it's too old for anything larger than 7.8 gig.AKA 8.4. (depends wether your counting by 1000 or 1024.

If you stay woith Warp 3 you'll also need to install fixpack 40 or greater.40 was the last public release 43 for the server I believe

update sources....www.os2site.com

this also has links to hobbes and OS2ports

have fun

or os2user on yahoo groups.

I have a Passport advantage Login, and even that has restrictions to what you can access and download. IBM wanted to ensure I was a bona-fide Computer Business, told them to get stuffed.

I went to http://shop.mensys.nl/mns_os2.html and bought the FIXPAK CD as I have both Warp3 RED Floppy and Warp4 CD original release, apart from the updates it also includws Netscape 4.61 and latest JAVA, so need to find two older PC's to run them.

On the Warp3 will run MS LanManger OS/2 Client as I do not have Warp Connect and intregate into my home lan.
