Thanks to all who replied in my last post, I have now decided to purchase OS/2 Warp 4. I have a question about its sound support. When you get a sound card functioning in OS/2, does it run sound for only OS/2, or does it also supply sound to the OS/2 Windows and dos emulators as well? Thanks to all who reply.
To have a working sound in WinOS/2 requires a addtional Win-OS/2 driver same goes for the DOS VDM. There are some generic drivers for WinOS/2 which *may* fullfill you needs. Some older cards which are SB compatible often doesnt need a additional DOS VDM driver. For more information visit http://www.os2usr.org/os2sound.html
Summary: I have an IBM motherboard with integrated sound and would like to know if there are generic OS/2 sound card drivers I can use so I would be able to play wav audio, etc.. IBM doesn't make any OS/2 spec...
